The following is written by Jennifer McCray, owner of The Paint Shack, who has been painting homes for over fifteen years. We discuss what it takes to be successful and what she has learned along the way.
In the age of social media, it’s easy to forget that you’re on a personal journey of self-inquiry. I started off self-teaching myself painting with the help of a guidebook and my dad, but the process has only gotten better over time. I’ve learned a lot along the way from the countless hours spent in the woods painting with my dad.
The great thing about self-teaching is that its really simple. All you need to do is to listen to someone talk about what they do and then just copy and paste that information into your own painting. Of course there are a few guidelines that need to be followed, but the idea is to just listen to your own voice and then make it your own.
The one thing I have to say about the painting process is that the more I paint, the better I get. So to me, it all depends on how much you enjoy the process. I dont think that there’s a best way to paint, but I think that there are some basic guidelines that work for all sorts of people from beginners to pros.
The guidelines are easy to follow. The most important thing is to go slow. If you are going to paint a large room, you will need a lot of details to paint all the details of the room, so pay attention.
I think if you get caught up in the painting process, you get lost in the details and end up not enjoying it. I dont think that its wrong to paint the walls, and I dont think it would be wrong to paint the floor too. I have seen this happen to someone so badly that they didnt even mention the painting. It was on their mind while they were painting it.
I think its a good idea. But I think the person should look at the space, not the paint colors. Paint should be done in layers. The colors are not like a painting. You can get that wrong, and it will be very distracting.
The problem with walls being painted is that they are the first ones that you see when you walk into a room, so if you don’t like the color, you have to deal with it. If you want to stay in a room you like, you will probably have to paint it in three or four colors, because you will have to deal with the colors that you don’t like. The same goes for flooring.
You can get paint that is totally wrong, and it wont be very distracting. But if you want to change something about a room, you will have to cover it up.
