I am a project manager by trade. I see my business as a project, but I see it as one that I’m responsible for. It’s in that position that I do my best work. I also have a solid base of knowledge that I’m willing to share. I know to be a professional project manager, but also to know how to get paid for it.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never worked in a position where I had to make a business decision for the company, and I don’t think I’ve ever had to hire a team of people to do it. So when I’ve had to make business decisions, I’ve gotten paid for it, and I’ve been responsible for making it work.
It’s a job that requires a great deal of initiative, ability to learn, and sometimes a willingness to compromise. I work for an internet marketing agency that has a good sized base of people that are willing to work for a fraction of the typical salary. These are the people I have to make business decisions for, and I dont know if it was worth it. I hope Ive been paying attention.

As a PM, you work on projects that you are responsible for, and you have to write a lot of reports. Some of these reports are boring, some are more exciting, but all of them have to be done, and you have to keep up with the deadlines. You also have to work nights and weekends.
I am very happy with the pay myself. I think that there are definitely some perks that are not worth the high investment. Like a lot of salary surveys, it’s subjective, and you could have a great job, but you might not get to sleep all day in your cubicle, and your manager might be a jerk.
It’s true that we are very lucky to have a job in a company that has a very generous offer for full-time work. At my previous job, we had to do everything on our own and had no time to work out what the offer was, so I was very much in the minority. This is the other side of the coin though. It’s actually very common for people who have a job to have a very difficult time finding the best salary.
First, you need to take into account what the job is. There are some very competitive jobs out there, so finding the best starting salary for your own is going to be a challenge. I would recommend taking a look at the job descriptions of the jobs at your company and see if you can find any that are worth the time to look at.
The one big thing that is important to take into account is the hours you will be working. The more hours you put in the better, so if your job is a full time job that means you are working four or five hours a day, but depending on the position, you may be working just one or two hours.
