The products that we use or buy are the ones that bring us the most pain (and the most pleasure).
In the last few years, we have seen an amazing surge of product safety stories in the media. Unfortunately, product safety has been taken as a given that no matter what it entails, it’s somehow bad. This is just not true.
Product safety stories that have come out in the past year are a lot more nuanced and less “it happens to me on a shopping trip”. Sometimes the “product” is the product itself, and sometimes a product is the packaging, but almost always the product is the product safety incident.
This is one of those true stories and it’s one of the reasons why I’m passionate about product safety. The idea that you have to go to the store and say, “My bag is safe, but I can’t trust the bag to hold my goods, because this bag is filled with chemicals,” is a lot harder to deal with than you think.
In the case of the iPhonix iPhonix Pouch, safety was a priority not only because the safety features were designed to be used in the environment where the iPhonix Pouch was to be used, but also because the pouch would be used to hold sensitive data — and thus be more likely to get damaged.

In summary, if you are going to use a wireless phone or any other type of device that is going to be exposed to a lot of water, you are going to have to make sure that any equipment you are using is very, very water-resistant.
The iPhonix Pouch, as far as we know, is the only model of the company’s products that is water-resistant. And if you look at the packaging, you can see that there is a small amount of water underneath the pouch. But then the water is gone pretty quickly and the pouch remains completely dry. So we’re still a bit confused about what the iPhonix Pouch is really for.
Were you? I was pretty confused myself until I realized that when you put your smartphone inside the pouch, you don’t need to worry about water. I also realized that we had all been using the iPhonix Pouch for a while and it had gotten dry. I did wonder, though, why we weren’t seeing any warnings about the pouch getting dry.
Well, it’s because this pouch is for your iPhone. You probably have other Apple products in your pocket in the form of a laptop or a bag of cash. Your iPhone is a big part of your life, so you want it to stay safe. And because Apple products are made in America, the federal government doesn’t have the authority to require you to take any extra steps to protect your life.
