My computer just became self aware. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything remotely self aware, but my computer was a bit grumpy this morning. One of the reasons I’m so happy to have an updated Apple laptop is because I can log into my email account and easily send myself an email anytime I need to get in touch with me. The other reason is that I now have an email account that’s really self aware.
I have been using my email account for years and it has remained largely unchanged, but recently it has started sending me email notifications whenever I check my email (even when I’m not using it). I think this is part of Apple’s self awareness. They want to be sure you know you have an email account and that you can react to your email like any other email account.
I think it’s a great idea, and I’m not against the idea of letting email act like a normal email account. I just think the problem is that it’s only been a year or so since Apple changed the email address. So this idea isn’t going to be a long-term thing. But it does seem like a good idea.
