This book is a must read for anyone interested in public policy, business, and the government. It focuses on the ethical values, principles, and behaviors that people should display to help guide their society. From the book’s cover: “In the beginning, the first people were the hunters and gatherers. Over time, people began to explore and settle, and then, as technology and science advanced, they began to explore and settle more and more.
In the beginning, many people believed that the government should provide for the well-being of all people. Over time, as people learned more and more about their rights, they began to believe that it was the job of the government to provide for their needs, just as they had helped provide for their own needs over the centuries. So, as the government became smarter and more capable of managing society, it began to consider itself a partner in its citizens’ needs.
Many people in many places, governments, businesses and societies, still believe in the notion that the government should provide for the well-being of people and not just provide for their own needs. But at the same time, many people are concerned about the government’s ability to keep up with the technological and scientific advancements that will inevitably change the economic system. They are concerned about the government’s ability to keep up with these changes.
